Syston Model Railway Society was formed over twenty years ago after a course on how to build a model railway had taken place at the local community college. The club led a nomadic existence until the Old School committee took pity on the members and offered two rooms for sole use of the society.
At this time, there are two permanently placed layouts, an OO gauge and an N gauge, and a portable N gauge layout for exhibition, Horse Cove.
Work is ongoing on our new N Gauge layout "Pendlebury Parva" which has already had several outing. Our new OO Gauge layout has at last gained a name, we have decided to call it "Vale of Tranmer" after a club member who was heavily involved in the layout.
